First Days

Sooo do you hate or do you love the first days of new jobs. I hate them. This one should of been easy as I was returning to an "old" job, one that I was comfortable and enjoyed, but I still had nerves... and felt sick. All the pressure to perform etc was back again. Part of people knowing that I am not totally new is good but also bad, I hope they don't expect too much of me, aaghh the pressure. I hate expectations etc. I go to pieces. Apart from that it was a lovely day. Hopefully I'll be able to cope tomorrow with a "baby" load.... so anyway enough of the crap.. onto the alphabet of moi!

BBBBBBBBBBB

B is for lots of things.. but the first thing that sprung to mind is books. I love them!! As a child I spent many hours immersed in Enid Blyton, Judy Blume, The Babysitters Club.. lots and lots of stuff. I stopped reading when I went to boarding school and have only just recently gotten back into reading in the last few years, thanks to a neighbour who had a lovely bookcase full of great books. She got me into all those lovely chick books by Maeuve Binchy and Cathy Kelly etc. The best read I'd had in a long time was reading the Bronze horseman trilogy by Belinda Alexandra.. awesome books.

B is also for Babies.. I love them too, would have millions of them but unfortunately like all good things, they must come to an end and they turn into toddlers, which turn into 3 year olds then four year olds.. and well you get the picture.

So anyway I think I'll leave B there for tonight...not really in the best mood for blogging. xx

New Year.....another attempt??

Not sure why I am bothering to do this as I am a terrible blogger.... absolutely shocking. My last post was on the 1st of August last year... that was over 5 months ago. I love the idea of a blog, I love that I can just chat away, almost like a diary, but I am lazy... so very, very, very lazy. There it is, I said it.. I can always find something else to do rather than the task at hand. For example, I have now been sitting here for an hour and a half. I have been telling myself that I am going to clean my room today.. just like I did yesterday, and the day before. We have been living in this house for almost 5 weeks and it's still not done. I suppose I will go and do it once I have done this....... or maybe not. The kids have not bothered me once all morning. C didn't wake me up, I found him in the loungeroom, playing the Nintendo DS and the other two didn't get up until after 8. They have since been watching tv in the loungeroom. FAAAAAAAAAAR too much television has been watched in this house these holidays, but I am figuring that it's holidays and I'm on holidays too, just like them and if they want to spend all day in front of the tele...well I'm going to let them. I guess the bad parent police will not be far from knocking on my doorstep now.

On EB somebody suggested making a Thankful book of 2008. As I've already mentioned.. I'm lazy, so this is something I may or may not get around to doing, but I am going to try and document my thankfuls and gratefuls here on this blog... at least that is the plan.

We are almost 2 weeks into the New Year and so far my thankfuls are:

1. I am surrounded by family and good friends.

2. My middle child Lachlan turned 5.

3. I was able to walk into the hospital, and regain my old job with very little fuss.

4. I have been able to sleep in on numerous occasions.

5. It has rained nearly every day.

6. We have access to pools to go swimming.

7. The children have been very happy to laze around and are not asking to go anywhere.

8. My husband tells me he loves me every day.

9. I have access to the internet again.... pheww.

10. I have sorted out my spam problem.... so serious that one!

Another thing I have been inspired to do is an alphabet of me...I have seen this done on a few blogs, the most recent being Amanda. There is something about Amanda that draws me to read her blog. I met Amanda through the EB scrapping girls. She is an original, she is kind and a leader. She seems to be a very peaceful person, although reading her blog there has been many rough times in her life. She is a nurse too, so maybe that is it, but I love her scrapping style and enjoy the few chats we have had. I am making myself sound like a stalker...aaghh. Anyway big waves to you Amanda! So I guess we start we start at the very beginning... A

AAAAAAAAAAAAAA

A is for Adam...my husband of 7 years, 8 on September the 23rd, 2008. For me, it wasn't love at first sight... although it apparently was for him. He remembers seeing me dancing at the bank niteclub and thinking I was a hottie.. methinks maybe too many drinkies for Adam. I actually don't really remember meeting him.. he was always kind of just there. It must of been at the beginning of 1997 as we got together in May of that year.. May 16th if we want to be precise. He hung around with a group of guys, a group of us girls had met over the Christmas holdidays of 1996. I remember him "smutting"..(the word for pashing at the time) a friend of mine and thinking ewwwwwwwwww. Then another friend and I began to notice him for the lovely guy he was. He was kind, thoughtful, funny, friendly and had GREAT legs. On that night we said to each other, may the best woman win. I guess that was me?? She ended up with another guy, although it didn't have the happy ending that we did. It was a drunken night for him.. and he claimed to have not remembered much, but he did apparently...the good bits I heard. So that's him, my husband, my friend. He is still kind, thoughtful, can be funny, friendly, his legs are still a bit of alright and he still tells me he loves me every day and also how beautiful I am. I give him a hard time, I am not proud of it. I am difficult to live with I'm sure, he is very tolerant.

No longer a tag virgin...

Well sorry it's taken me a while Tash, but I hadn't checked in here for a while. So I guess I should do this tag thing....

1)Post these rules
2)Each Person tagged must post 8 random (interesting) facts about themselves.
3)Write a BLOG post on these facts.
4)At the end of the post 8 more people are tagged and named.
5)Go to their blog and leave a comment telling them that they are tagged.

hmmmmmmmmm interesting facts hey

1) I have short little fingers, they only come up to my first joint on my ring finger.

2) I met DH in a nite club

3) I have never been overseas

4) I have a belly button ring, had it done twice now, once at 19, then again for my 28th b'day. Not sure when this one will ever come out, the other came out because of pregnancy.

5) I have won a state title in rowing.

6) In all the places I have lived, bar one, I have made a life-long friend. I consider myself very lucky to say that.

7) I am unbelievably shy in group situations but am doing my best to over come that and it is taking me awesome places.

8) I hope never to be tagged again....hehe.. I am far too boring.

I think most of you have all been tagged, so you can either lay this tag to rest or tag yourself.

Life has been VERY BUSY around here atm. The other nurse that I work with is on holidays in NZ, how lucky is she, so I have been covering one of her days. I have also gone back to my full day on Wednesday, instead of alternating ones and a half day on the day I do work. The surgery I work at has employed more dr's and need a nurse there every day, all day. I have agreed because at the end of the year when we move.. only 4 more months now..I will have about 8 weeks off and go back to work when the kids are settled into school and daycare.

My biggest news is that I have a new/old camera. It's a Pentax DSLR and it's 2 years old. A lovely lady I work with is selling it as she just doesn't use it as much as she'd like, and couldn't be bothered learning to use it properly. Let's hope I do!! I don't want to become a professional photographer but I do want to be able to take great pictures. This will also complement my scrapping too I guess.

Everybody here has been sick with a mystery bug. Lots of temps and coughing. Have been lucky to be helped out by SIL and cousin and neighbour during this feral time. Am sooooooooooo over it.

Well now that was interesting wasn't it........NOT!! If you made it that far congratulations. Hopefully next time I'll be able to update with something interesting.. or maybe a few piccys!

Evil kinevil rides!!

omg.... Caleb is only 2yrs 5months and he's on a bike with training wheels!!!!! That is scary stuff. Adam took him out on the bike this morning as we no longer have a trike for him to ride. It was left in the sun too many times and Adam kicked it out of the way the other day and the wheels cracked off..whoops. Anyway, half an hour later, the little guy was zooming around. Thank goodness for stack hats though as he has come a buster twice and would have definitely done some serious head damage if not the helmet. Unfortunately for Caleb he is riding Hayley's old bike so for now, he will have to be content with a pink one!

More big news.. my cousin Jess's waters broke tonight... yay!!!! She is three weeks early so was a little nervous as her last baby was quite small at just under 3kgs and the birth was a little hairy, so hopefully tonight will be a good night for her!! Will be thinking of you Jess!!!

I wanted to get a few things done today scrapping wise but that didn't happen. Ever the procrastinator, I cleaned up my scrap room, made a card for Greg for his birthday and got out some stuff to start a challenge on sketches oz. I have some great gear from a Designing Memories kit that is perfect, but as usual, I just can't seem to get my act together.

Tomorrow is the big day, I kick off the 8 week challenge with weight watchers. I only really want to lose about 5kg so we'll see how we go. I better go and log in to there to work out what I can eat tomorrow. I'm surprised at actually HOW much I am allowed.

Righto, will stop this drivel right now. oooh I'm getting good at blogging aren't I peoples???

ummm forgot to add on the pic...

Let's see if this works???
you rock

Keeping up to speed :)

Righto.... two days in a row..AMAZING!! I've had a fairly quiet day today, managed to do some scrapping which I'll show you if I can work out how to insert the photo...oh never mind, I've just seen the thing up the top. derrrrrrrr.

I received a RAK from a lovely chick called Cat. She knew I wanted the Love Elsie papers but was trying not to spend money, so she gave me a $10 voucher to spend at 3 Angels Scrapping. How nice is that!!!!!!! I have so enjoyed being a part of the EB scrapgirls forum. They are a very giving and supportive bunch and generally bring a bit of fun and laughter into my day.

So what else did we do today...ummmm. The boys weren't too bad today I guess, just the usual exuberance I guess. Lachie has been playing with his lego again and making the most amazing creations. He came out tonight with a car that had a propellor on the front and some flappy things on the side for wings. That boys sure loves to make stuff, he is lego mad!!!

Hayley has been to a school disco tonight and she came home hyper hyper... that might of been from the lollies and chips and maccas and coke that she ate after the disco... THANKS GREG! So anyway she's in bed now and the house is quiet apart from Adam doing that male flicking thing on the telly. He wonders why I won't watch tv with him...well people this would be it!!!!!

The cat.......... well our cat appears to be in confinement. We knew she went into season but we missed the very beginning and she did manage to spend one night out being promiscuous with the friendly neighbourhood Toms. Oh well, it will be a nice experience for the kids, so long as they don't ask too many questions about the birds and the bees. Not too sure I'm ready to go there yet.

Okay well I'm off to go and start a scraps challenge to make some cards.. I bet I get in my room and it will all seem too hard. I am the worlds biggest procrastinator, it's a wonder I get anything done.
